The Guard Battalion’s closing exercise Uusimaa 24 will be held on 20-26 November 2024.
The Guard Battalion, a sub-unit of the Guard Jaeger Regiment, will organize the combat exercise Uusimaa 24 in the areas of Porvoo, Sipoo, Tuusula and Helsinki on 20-26 November 2024. The exercise will be led by Commander of the Guard Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Jouni Suokas.
About 270 conscripts, regular personnel and reservists will participate in the exercise. The objective of the exercise is to test the skills of the conscript leaders mustering out in December and to improve the whole troops performance.
Exercise times and locations:
20-24 November
- Porvoo: town centre, Tuorila, Rantakylä, Tolkkinen ja Joonaanmäki
- Sipoo: Hindsby
24-26 November
- Tuusula: Seepsula
- Helsinki: Lauttasaari
- Off-road terrain between Porvoo and Sipoo
There will be troops in the training area wearing a fighting load, including an assault rifle. The opposing forces will wear civilian clothing. Troops will also use military vehicles.
The exercise may cause momentary noise in the vicinity of the training locations.
